Considering switching your antipsychotic?
If your current medicine is causing side effects you can’t tolerate, talk to your doctor. You may have other treatment options. And your doctor may recommend a switch.

One of your options may be GEODON. All medicines can cause side effects, including GEODON. And weight gain was ranked by a panel of experts as one of the top side effects that causes people with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia to stop taking their medicines. The American Psychiatric Association has stated that GEODON has a low risk of weight gain (Consensus Statement, 2004).

“If a patient tells me that they can’t tolerate the side effects of their medicine, I tell them, ‘We still have options. There are several medicines available. So a different one might work for you.’”
